Full Question:

I have a long hallway upstairs - the shorter side is the one with an electrical outlet, but the other is the longest - any ideas? Right now there is nothing on walls.

Thanks

Marilee

My answer:

Wow, you are very fortunate to have that much empty wall space - what a great “canvas” to work with! I have a few suggestions for you:

1. A “family” wall is really cool - photos of your family (even your furry family)mounted in matching frames looks like a gallery.

2. Do you collect anything? I collect ceiling globes and am mounting a collection on a wall I have here. I have seen a wall done in Indian dream-catchers - stunning!

3. You can create a great look by just using paint. Paint the wall one color and then accent it by ragging, dabbing, sponging, or washing on another color.

4. You could also cover the wall in any number of different “papers” - not just wallpaper - but brown bags, tissue paper, scrap-booking paper, gift wrap, post cards, sheet music, book pages, newsprint - the list of “papers” can be endless!

5. Add molding for drama. Put up a chair rail, or add molding “frames” or use wide molding for a small shelf. Gorgeous!

Enjoy whatever you decide to do with that wall - hope these ideas get your creative juices flowing!
