Full question:

When I got married 8+ years ago, I think silver and crystal were on sale!! I have a lot of it and most is still in boxes, never used

Any suggestions as to how to use them in decorating With three children under age 7 around? I have things like silver trays & napkin rings, serving dish with a lid, crystal bowls, etc.

Should I just wait until they (the kids) are a lot bigger? :)

My answer:

Well, if you want to use them for what they were meant for, probably.

And my suggestion will mean that you’ll never use them for what they were meant for EVER. :)

I am actually taking all of my silver, drilling holes through the middle/bottom, attaching them to threaded dowels and using them as garden art. The trays will be bird feeders, and anything with a bowl shape will hold flower pots.

Now, a not-so-radical idea would be to use them in “your” bathroom. Mine are being moved out of “my” bathroom to become that garden art. Right now they hold cotton balls, scented soaps, one has my “main makeup” - one eye shadow, mascara, lipstick, etc., I use one of the crystal pieces as a soap dish. I could go look and see what else I have in them but you probably get my drift.
