Can I access all past info on your site from a current newsletter?

Email the link for this page to a friend!

Full question:

There are so many great ideas at your web site, but I find I am saving EVERYTHING onto my computer. Can I access all past info from a current newsletter and delete the rest of it to save space? I just don’t want to lose a single idea, but I also don’t want to have more paper clutter by copying and printing out my favorites.

Thanks,
Jeanne

My answer:

Jeanne,

Thank you so much - you made my day. There is no higher compliment to me than to hear that the designs I am putting out on the internet are considered “great ideas”!

Now, I’m thinking about how I can help you. Here are the areas you may currently be getting ideas from:

* The ezine
* The website
* The blog (a large part of the website)

The new designs I am developing are currently appearing in the ezine and on the blog, and new articles I write all appear in the library on the website. You can subscribe to the RSS feed on the blog to get told when new designs are put on the blog. You’ll be able to read those right in the RSS feed. Or if you’d rather, you can keep checking the blog at your convenience. Anything on the blog will remain online for good, so you can just bookmark the designs you like so you can refer to them later.

The same is true for the new articles. They will remain in the library for good and can be bookmarked for future reference. One thing I do when I bookmark things I find online that I want to save, is to call them something that will remind me what they are when I see the bookmark. For instance, if you like the book lamp design, name the bookmark “book lamp” when you bookmark it. You’ll know exactly what the bookmark is that way.

As far as the ezine goes, THAT is currently only available via email, with links to the pictures. It was developed for people who just “do” email and aren’t likely to go to websites (for anything other then the pictures, that is). The projects in the ezine do not appear anywhere else, other then the ezine.

To help me when this happens to me with ezines I subscribe to, I just cut and paste the parts I like (including the pictures), into a word file. I put all the ideas I get for decorating with books on the same page, all the ideas for decorating with shells, on the same page page, all the ideas for decorating with buttons on the same page, and so on and so on. I then save the pages as individual word documents in a folder on my computer. I name the folders so I know what ideas are inside - Decorating With Books, Decorating With SHells, Decorating With Buttons, and so on and so on.

I hope this helps you keep the ideas you like sorted and stored with less paper!

Your Frugal Decorating Diva,

Nancy
