How can I dry fruit as ornaments for my Christmas tree?

Full question:
I want to make dried fruit ornaments for my Christmas tree. It takes a long time to air dry these. How else can I dry them?
My answer:
A food dehydrator works well for these, too. I did apples and oranges at the same time in mine, and the house smelles great. My dehydrator has five trays and I kept rotating them so the slices all dried evenly.
