Full question:
I need some advice. I am creating a nature/animal themed bedroom for myself over my Christmas vacation. The walls are wood so I do not think I can paint them. I was thinking about stenciling/stamping some things, though. Would this work and does anyone have any suggestions to make my room look interesting?
My answer:
I’ve been thinking about your theme - it’s the same one that I helped one of my friends achieve in her bedroom. We didn’t touch her wood walls, because the wood worked so well with the natural theme. We did use a lot of fake plants, though. We used them to hide all the crappy looking stuff that a room might have. Like we hid the TV antenna inside the branches of a ficus tree. We used other plants to hide an unattractive floor lamp that was needed for a desk light.
We also used some scarves in animal prints. I tied some around some throw pillows and others were drapped over lamp shades . THAT looked GREAT.
