Full question:

HERE IS MY PROBLEM, I HAVE A VERY LONG HALLWAY DOWNSTAIRS…ABOUT 20/25 FEET, ABOUT 4FEET WIDE. THE RIGHT SIDE ISNT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE’S A BEDROOM AND ANOTHER HALLWAY AND AN OFFICE ON THAT SIDE. MY PROBLEM IS THE LEFT SIDE (EXTERIOR WALL). ITS JUST CONTINUOUS…LOL, I JUST PAINTED IT AND IT HAS A WALL BORDER ALONG THE CEILING, I WAS GOING TO DO ALL DIFFERENT SIZE FAMILY PICTURES DOWN THE WALL, KIND OF SCATTERED BUT ALL IN THE SAME FRAME COLORS….BUT I THOUGHT I’D SEE IF ANYONE HAD ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO MAKE IT LOOK LESS LONG. I SHOULD ALSO SAY THAT THIS IS A FINISHED BASEMENT WALL AND THERE ARE NO WINDOWS ON THAT WALL EITHER. PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPP…

My answer:

I saw a designer handle this in one show. He did two things that I think just MADE that wall. First, he nailed painted moulding to the walls in rectangular shapes - each one looking like a big FRAME - all evenly spaced along the wall. The “frame” (the moulding) was all painted the same color. He wallpapered inside every other one (all the same wallpaper), which could also have been done before the “frame” was nailed to the wall. And the non-wallpapered ones, the wall paint color showed through.

He then hung lamps over EACH frame. These lamps looked like carriage house lamps - which I just LOVE! If you did this, you could then hang your photos inside each large frame, in clusters. Or just in the wallpapered ones. Or just in the painted ones, or whatever!

Although this is not an actual picture of what I saw, it gives you an idea of what the “frames” would look like here.
