Full question:
I have a finished basement with two basement windows..one very long and one very small..Do you suggest they be left with nothing on them? The windows have the square window grills..( white and white trim) or should I have a very small draped sheet?..Basement is somewhat country.
My answer:
If you need the light from them, then covering them would not be a good thing. If you can replace the light with inside lamps, then you can add a window treatment. To make the small window look bigger, hang the treatment on the outside of the window, against the wall, covering none of the window itself. To make the large window look smaller, hang the treatment over each end of the window, covering part of the opening.
