Full Question:
I am considering putting an office inside the closet of a spare bedroom I have. I want to remove the closet doors if I do. What do you do with the doors? If we store them in the attic and need them again, will they be ruined?
My answer:
Mine are currently stored flat in the basement on level ground. If you store them flat in the attic or another dry place, you can then cover them andĀ even put boxes on top of them to keep them from curling (warping). I would think that would work. Mind you, I am no carpenter so thisĀ sounds logically correct but not written in stone.
However, whenever I go to Home Depot or Lowes I usually see new doors stored standing up. I’ve seen a few screen doors stored flat but they are well covered with plastic and appear to have some support underneath. The folks at one of these home stores should be able to answer your question better then I. (Please let me know if you find out anything different).
