Full question:

I really wanted to do a Southwest Christmas scene on my porch this year, but ran out of time. I have my own home sewing & alterations business and it takes up most of my time, and my dh could care less if anything is decorated or not. So…..for next year……I am going to try to figure out the best way to decorate southwest style…..actually Native American style…..

My answer:

Though not Native American ideas - more southwestern in style, you might like to use some cowboy boots for decor. You could use them as stockings or fill them with a southwestern-looking dried flower arrangement. As an aside, I planted mine with “hens-and-chicks” to use in a southwestern-looking garden my SO wants.

And I just saw books covered with bark (like bookcovers)that looked very southwestern. I had some downed limbs on my property that the bark peeled off of in one piece that I wanted to do something like that with.

And, off course, bandanas are great to work with - as wreath accents, for making small bows, or as tree garland.
