Full question:
Hi! My dad bought a house for $12,000 with .42 of an acre with it. It has 2 dug wells & 1 cistern. Great water supply! It has a septic tank , that looks ok & in good shape. Good ground for gardening.
The house is in bad shape, except for the new vinyl siding & all new windows in it. It had termites & there was a hole in the floor between the dining room & kitchen, that a sheet of plywood was put over. What would you suggest for the floor . It’s very uneven & has this hole problem?? I thought about leveling it out somehow , then putting plywood over the whole floor & painting it. Any suggestions with that other websites that could help??
The bathroom is a total disaster. It needs torn off & rebuilt , but I don’t know what Dad is going to do with it. There is an outhouse to use , if it’s needed.
What websites do you suggest for repairs & just general stuff? It has a great front & back yard for beautiful gardens. The paneling is all wavy & sticks out around 6 inches from wall because it’s warped. I thought it could be torn off, insuklation put in & then drywall put over it. What do you think??
My answer:
This website has a self-leveling material. Looks interesting:

I’d check at a home center to see what they sell.I LOVE Lowe’s. I love all their free workshops because you guys can learn how to do some of this stuff yourself. Their website is:
And about your walls, I’d take that paneling off, myself. You have half the battle of well insulated walls with that siding and windows. I’d put in insulation and then cover it with drywall.
